TODD - BIO

Todd is a lifelong avid sports enthusiast from athlete, coach, to spectator. A multi-sport collegiate athlete who has brought 2 successful sport focused companies to market.  He now serves as a daddy sports uber for his two children. He enjoys coaching and watching them grow and succeed. Their journeys with their teams, lessons, and competitors serve as focus groups for LRS.  He utilizes his daily experience with his young athletes to make informed decisions with respect to LRS is to provide tools which empower and protect athletes in the new amateur athletic landscape. These tools are centered on athletes owning their content and building their brand via a fun experience and safe community of athletic peers and sports lovers.

Todd Kuta is the President/CEO of Locker Room Sports.   Mr. Kuta led the development of the LRS business model and service offerings, established a robust intellectual property strategy with a deep well of IP filings, secured funding, and recruited a world-class team of executives and advisors to bring his vision to the world.  Todd passionately drives the execution of his vision to deliver and extend the LRS suite of products and services to educate and empower young athletes and their parents with tools to deliver maximum opportunities in the rapidly evolving world of amateur athletics.

Prior to founding LRS, Mr. Kuta spent 15 years performing going-concern valuations, specializing in the retail petroleum and QSR industries. Working on behalf of corporations such as BP, Equilon Enterprises, Chevron, ExxonMobil, Starbucks, KFC, Burger King, Dunkin’ Donuts, Taco Bell, Wendy’s, Dairy Queen as well as their franchisees and lending institutions, he evaluated the business and financial operations of thousands of retail and wholesale businesses.

A serial entrepreneur at heart, in 1999 Mr. Kuta brought his visionary skills to golf by developing the world’s first personal GPS systemand founding GolfLogix. His system launched the industry race for distance measuring devices, statistical analysis, and club customization driven by those statistics for the lay golfer. In 2005, GolfLogix developed proprietary software and maps for a Garmin co-branded handheld GPS device featured at thousands of prestigious golf courses across the globe. GolfLogix remains the only OEM product ever produced by Garmin. According to a 2019 Golf Datatech study, 90% of serious golfers use a distance device every time they play. A 2018 Golf Datatech report indicated that 2/3 of serious golfers now use this statistical analysis to be custom fitted for their clubs. The Post Game Printout preceded the PGA Tours ShotLink by years and quickly became a prized memory for everyday golfers at countless courses. So much so that the GolfLogix system was welcomed by both the PGA and Champions Tour to provide mementos for the amateurs participating in the charity events surrounding their tour stops. The GolfLogix Community provided interactivity through its online social networking, virtual competition, and ability to build and share information with golfers’ personal networks. GolfLogix is currently used on five continents and remains the industry leader in distance measuring.

Prior to GolfLogix, Todd developed and managed the Internal Sales force for Arizona’s 1st Common Language publicly traded company, PCI. After the IPO, he grew the account base from 7,000 to 15,000 domestic accounts in less than two years via his implementation of a process mapping project, installation of a multinational CRM program, and leadership of the in-house sales representatives.

Mr. Kuta’s pioneering spirit started early when in 1994-95 he conceptualized and brought to market the world’s 1st online athletic scouting service, Athlete’s Edge. The solution employed a selectively quarriable metadata database accessed via the new World Wide Web, which became the Internet. The site featured personal profiles of potential college athletes, including their physical characteristics, athletic accomplishments and statistics, game films, media stories, athletic schedules, and other demographic information. College coaches from every intercollegiate sport utilized the cutting-edge search capabilities to find athletes whose profiles met the wants and needs of their recruiting efforts in a quick, efficient, and cost-effective manner. The “My Team” featureafforded athletes the ability to share their profile with people of their choosing while also sending push information about new news, media, video, or statistical changes. At its zenith, 1,700 of the 2,200 institutions which participate at some level of intercollegiate sports utilized the service. The platform that Athletes Edge introduced soon gave rise to a plethora of copycat services such as Rivals, Scouts, and NCSA. The personal profile concepts were soon emulated by MySpace, Friendster, and later Facebook. The athletic scouting industry currently generates billions of dollars in annual revenue in the sports-crazed United States.

Mr. Kuta earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from Missouri Western State University.  Todd holds multiple US patents.  He has held a Certified General Appraiser license in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and Michigan and has performed going concern valuations in more than 30 states.

We started with one 15-head embroidery machine, one tiny location, 1 core customer (Callaway Golf, who is still our customer today), limitless passion, and three core beliefs (that still guide our business today). By sticking to our core beliefs, working hard, and with a lot of blessings, our business has flourished!

Today our customer list reads like a Who’s Who of sporting goods giants and Fortune 500 companies. The products that we embellish or make have been used by or seen on:

Four United States Presidents

The Olympic Games

Numerous TV shows

The Ryder Cup

US Magazine

Several movies

The Superbowl

The President’s Cup

Every golf tournament in the last 10 years!
